This policy explains what Crystal Images ("we") collects when you use photos.bigskyphotos.com, buy photos online or in our store, and how we use it. Questions: info@bigskyphotos.com.
Photos we take
Our photographers take photos in public areas of Big Sky Resort and at sessions you book. Photos are posted in our online gallery, organized by date, location and (for portraits) the last name you give the photographer, so you can find and buy them. Galleries are public: anyone browsing a date and location can see the watermarked previews.
To help you find your photos, we label each photo with the sport (ski or snowboard) and jacket and pants colors, using our own software. We do not use facial recognition.
Photos stay in the online gallery for about one year. We keep an archive after that.
Want a photo taken down? Email info@bigskyphotos.com with the date, location and photo number (shown under each photo) and we'll remove it from the gallery. Parents and guardians can ask us to remove photos of their children at any time.
What we collect
- When you buy online: your name and email, plus a billing and shipping address if you order prints or frames. Payment is completed on our shop (bigskyphotos.com) and processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- When you buy in our store: your name and email (to send your receipt and download link), and your phone number or address if you give them. Card payments go through Square; we don't store card numbers.
- When you browse: our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Your cart is saved in your own browser so it's there when you come back.
How we use it
- To deliver your photos, prints and frames, send receipts and download links, and answer your questions.
- To send occasional follow-ups, such as a request for a review or an offer. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can also reply or email us to stop them. Receipts and download links are always sent.
- To keep records our business needs (sales, taxes, refunds).
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who helps us run the site
We use a few service providers who handle data only to provide their service to us: Railway (website hosting), Cloudflare (photo storage), WooCommerce (our online shop) and Stripe (online card payments), Square (in-store payments), and Resend (sending email). The site's fonts are served from our own site, so browsing doesn't send your information to font services.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies or tracking pixels on this site. Your cart is kept in your browser's own storage, and staff use a sign-in cookie for the studio. Our shop at bigskyphotos.com, where you pay, may use cookies needed for checkout.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep some sales records for tax and accounting). Email info@bigskyphotos.com.
Children
Our galleries can include photos of children skiing or riding with their families. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children; purchases are made by adults. See "Want a photo taken down?" above.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
